For US special education teams
Every goal starts at a baseline.
We draw the line from there.
IEP SmartGoals turns the paperwork of an individualised education program into one continuous, measurable line — from the baseline you record on day one to the mastery you evidence at review.
View the data as a table
| Goal | Wk 1 | Wk 2 | Wk 3 | Wk 4 | Wk 5 | Wk 6 | Wk 7 | Wk 8 | Wk 9 | Wk 10 |

The method
A goal is only useful if it can be measured.
Every goal you write is held to the same five tests. The builder will not let a goal through without them — which is exactly what makes the progress line possible later.
Specific
Names the skill, the condition and the learner. No "will improve behaviour".
Measurable
Carries a number and a unit, so two people reading it record the same thing.
Achievable
Anchored to the recorded baseline, not to a hope.
Relevant
Tied to access to the curriculum and to the student's actual day.
Time-bound
Has a review date the system counts down to on your behalf.
What it does
Built around the week you actually have.
Not a compliance database you feed after hours — a tool that fits between lessons.
Goal builder
Domain-aware templates for reading, math, communication, behaviour, motor, social and functional goals. Baseline in, SMART goal out.
Data collection
Log a trial in one tap from a phone at the table. Percentage, frequency, duration or rubric — the goal decides the input.
Progress reports
Mastered, sufficient, insufficient or not yet introduced — calculated from the data, formatted for the report card, exported to PDF.
Practice worksheets
Generate a passage, quiz or behaviour-matching sheet aligned to the goal, ready to print, shared across the team.
How it works
Four steps, then it keeps itself current.
- Step one
Record the baseline
Two or three sessions of honest data. This is the point the whole line is measured from, so the system will not let you skip it.
- Step two
Write the goal against it
The builder proposes a target from the baseline and the timeframe, then checks the wording against all five SMART tests before it saves.
- Step three
Collect as you teach
Log trials from wherever you are. Co-teachers and paraprofessionals log against the same goal, so the line reflects the whole team.
- Step four
Report without a rebuild
At review, the report is already written: rate of progress, trend against target, and narrative drafted from the data you have been logging all along.
See it against one of your own goals.
Bring a goal you are currently tracking. In twenty minutes we will set it up, log its baseline, and show you the progress report it produces at review.
